Sandra Rigo
I was born in 1959 in the city of Santo Ângelo, Rio Grande do Sul - Brazil, and art has always been present in my life, be it drawing, painting and music.
Years later, already living in Salvador, Bahia, I started the Fine Arts course at the Federal University of Bahia, which I studied for 2 years before moving to Brasília.
From 1998 onwards, I began to dedicate myself intensely to my passion: art. I improved my skills through courses, leveraging a variety of techniques — from spatula painting to the realism of still life, such as flowers, fruits and human figures, especially nudes.
In 2004, I returned to academic training, now at the University of Brasília, and in 2008 I graduated with a Bachelor's degree and a Degree in Fine Arts. A particularity of my work is the presence of music. I choose a song and listen to it repeatedly throughout the process — from preparing the paints to completing the work. Usually the title on the screen is the same as the song that inspired it.
From 2015 onwards, I focused exclusively on my artistic career, intensifying my participation in solo and group exhibitions and getting involved in artistic associations. I moved to South Korea in 2019 and, after a 4-year sabbatical, I resumed painting, and produced a notable amount of canvases, marking a successful return between the Korean and Brazilian seasons.
